2008 Bahamas Mission Trip |
| |

Amazing does not even begin to describe our mission trip to the Bahamas! We departed from the Memphis airport Sept. 5th with three Tropical Storms brewing in the Atlantic. Our plans were to land in Nassau, Bahamas and take a boat the next morning to Eleuthera. We had many public schools lined up to sing and preach at in Eleuthera. That was our plans, but God had something different in mind. The boats were closed the next morning due to Hurricane Hannah's choppy waters. We were now sitting in the direct path of Hurricane Hannah. God showed up and directed the hurricane in a different direction. We had some heavy winds, but no one was hurt. What a miracle! Now, we needed to find a place to stay and places to serve for the next week and a half. God opened several doors & placed us exactly where he wanted us. It was Amazing! Below are some of the highlights of the trip:

We were able to preach and sing in 2 public schools, over 540 people were saved during our trip.

We had great daily soulwinning experiences. We met one lady that spoke a different language. Her neighbor was able to interpret the gospel for her. The lady bowed her head and accepted Christ as her Saviour.

One night after dinner at The Imperial, Jeremiah stopped to talk to a teenage boy. The boy's life was in shambles. His father left him when he was very young, and his mother had recently passed away. He was all alone. He had no family to go to. Jeremiah shared the Gospel with him and that young boy received Christ as his Saviour. The boy said, "Finally, it feels like I have something to grasp onto in life."

We were able to see 3 baptisms. The baptism service was quite unique. We all loaded up in cars and buses and headed for the ocean. Yes, their baptism service was in the ocean. It was awesome!!
